Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

G2 are not only the incumbent champions but they're also the craziest team in the LEC -- if not the entire West. That much is a fact, and we've known it for years. They'll tryhard and dominate like so few teams that came before them, and then, at some seemingly random point of the split, they'll opt to fool around and do a bit of "limit testing." And, well, you can never really predict *when* that will happen, but you *do* know it's inevitable.

That's what happened yesterday as well. They didn't lose to Team BDS because they couldn't handle their purported might, but rather because they simply didn't want to try all that hard. They underestimated BDS and didn't care much for the end result. And, well, we can hardly blame them. Why *would* they try their hardest? The split is long and incredibly taxing, and taking a "mental break" from time to time is not only advisable but perhaps even necessary.

And so, really, their sole defeat should by no means be taken at face value. They wanted to have a bit of fun and their hubris got the better of them -- and it won't be the last time. That's the G2 we all know and love.

Now, though, they'll *have* to try a lot harder, what with Vitality actually being a layered, capable challenger, one with a metric ton of talent and (presumably) potential. Plus, there's a bit of history between them, too -- caPs and Perkz have been trading blows (or, conversely, fighting under the same banner) for what feels like an eternity and, well, they'll surely want to "one up" each other this time around as well.

Vitality, however, just aren't good enough to compete on even footing with a team like G2. They sure can pop off, granted, but those flashes and bursts aren't frequent enough to matter. Betting on G2, while undoubtedly a risk, *does* make more sense.
