Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

what a phenomenal match-up, one that is basically guaranteed to blow our minds! G2 Esports taking on Vitality has been pegged as the "Match of the Week" and, well, we agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly. Interestingly enough, though, neither of these two are currently deemed as top-tier behemoths -- that is a role currently assumed by Fnatic, Rogue, and even Misfits to a certain degree.

G2 and Vitality, on the other hand, lurk in the shadows. Capable, but not yet ready or cohesive enough to truly challenge for a spot at the top. They *can* pop off at times, but they're also way too volatile to actually stand a chance against the very best teams in all of Europe. They have a fair bit of work ahead of them, but they also have some of the best and most revered players in the West, so it's safe to assume that they'll be firing on all cylinders once the playoffs come around.

Will that suffice against the likes of FNC and RGE? Well, it *might*, but we're not particularly optimistic. G2 and VIT, talented though they certainly are, have been a fair bit more exploitable (nor to mention inconsistent) than their higher-ranked peers, and that kind of volatility isn't easy to patch up or subdue -- it takes many weeks and months of hard work for such a deficiency to be dealt with and ameliorated. That's why the upcoming Summer Split has so much promise: it'll be insanely competitive from start to finish! But that whole part of the season is still a few months away, so there's really no point in talking about it *right now*.

So, who's going to win? That's an incredibly hard question to answer. Much like the bookmakers, we're going to side with G2 as they've been a bit more concrete in their wins -- more cohesive, commanding, with a clearer identity and a more pronounced playstyle. The difference between them might not be all that big, but on a good day it *does* exist, and that's what we're hoping for here as well: that G2 will have one of their "good days" and not implode out of the blue (as has happened in the very recent past).
