Team SoloMid vs Team Dignitas

Neither of these two teams has looked all that great lately. Team SoloMid nearly dropped a couple of games lately, whereas Dignitas look like a shadow of their former selves without Soligo in the line-up. Granted, they were never any sort of top-tier behemoth, but they had a coherent identity and they played to their strengths whenever possible. As a result, they were able to accrue a very respectable number of wins and eventually finish in the Top 5 -- a commendable feat, given whom they had for opposition.

Now, though, there's very little to praise them for. To make matters even worse, it seems like there's a big of drama happening behind the scenes as Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett has been swapped out in favor of Matthew "Akaadian" Higginbotham. So any sort of synergy and team-wide cohesion that they had has now basically gone out the window. And, well, they've been looking like one of the worst teams in the LCS, especially if we focus on their most recent outings. Immortals have nearly taken down TSM and are currently riding high after beating Cloud9 to a pulp; the Golden Guardians have grown into quite a feisty, idiosyncratic challenger, and Counter Logic Gaming? Two-game winstreak over 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses.

So, in all fairness, if you're a Dignitas fan, now would be a good time to sound the alarms. And, again: it was never about Soligo in particular but rather the team's overall identity.

Team SoloMid haven't been playing all that well, but at least they've had much higher highs and have earned our benefit of the doubt. They're probably going to win this one, although if the last couple of days and weeks are any indication, there are no guarantees whatsoever. They're better across the board, they have more tools to work with, and if they just draft for comfort and don't make any huge blunders in the early game they should definitely be able to get the "W" tonight.
