Team Liquid vs Team Dignitas

Team Liquid vs. Dignitas is by no means a premier match-up. That much is clear. Then again, it's still the very start of the competitive season, so we'd we wise not to draw any conclusions before even seeing these teams in action. If the LPL and LCK are any indication, wild upsets are pretty much guaranteed, and just because TL's better in every way, shape, and form doesn't necessarily mean they'll get the win -- this is the LCS we're talking about, a region where things often shake out in ways we never thought were possible.

Then again, the odds of Dignitas upsetting are so meagre we might as well consider them non-existent. There's really no other way to say it. They're just not talented enough to compete on even footing. And, to make matters even worse, their imported jungler -- and a PCS champion, no less -- will be unable to compete for the entirety of the LCS Lock-In tournament due to visa complications. He was supposed to be their biggest catalyst, an early game playmaker who would give Dignitas a much needed boost and set up plays for the rest of the team to capitalize on. Instead, they'll be fielding their Academy jungler who has so little experience we might as well consider him an absolute rookie. And, well, unless he ends up being a prodigious, once-in-a-million kind of talent, there's no way whatsoever that Dignitas will be able to compete on even footing with a giant like Team Liquid.

They, too, will be unable to field their intended line-up due to CoreJJ not getting his green card approved in time. That's not going to affect them that much against a bottom-dweller like Dignitas, but it'll surely end up being a problem against the upper echelon of the LCS. We're going with the four-time LCS champions on this one as even in their weakened state they shouldn't have too much trouble in taking Dignitas down and starting 2022 off with a win. It probably won't be the cleanest or most commanding showing one can imagine, but they'll get the job done nonetheless. How could they not with such a staggeringly talented line-up, one that is comprised of some of the best and most revered players the world of competitive LoL has to offer?
