SK Gaming vs Misfits

Misfits are the "real deal," and if they keep playing at this incredibly high level they'll not only reach the playoffs but perhaps even pull off an upset or two. They're *that* good, although, in all fairness, they still have a lot of work ahead of them. Their 4W-4L record is one that shows promise. It might not be the most impressive tally one could imagine, but you have to factor in just how young and inexperienced most of these players are. And yet their greenhorn nature seldom creeps up to the surface.

They've mostly been stellar, against both mid- and top-tier opposition. Take their loss to Vitality, for example. Had someone told us that Misfits would be able to go tit-for-tat in the early and mid game with one of the most stacked teams in LEC history we would've laughed them out of the room. That sounds absolutely ludicrous -- but this young, feisty line-up cares very little for what the community thinks and whether anyone believes in them or not. They've showcased immense growth over the last few weeks and, needless to say, we can't wait to see how high they'll be able to climb once everything is said and done!

Their last game was actually quite impressive. Well, at least as impressive as a loss can be. The important thing is that they were *actually* able to give Vitality a run for their money. Neon and Mersa, in particular, blew Carzzy and Labrov out of the water. Heck, they outclassed them outright, and it wasn't a sight anyone expected to see. By the same token, Shlatan was quick to set up plays across the map and capitalize on the lead his bottom lane duo was able to generate. Misfits, as a whole, were much faster than Vitality and had somehow managed to read their more seasoned adversaries like a book. Their macro was far superior and they were firmly in the driver's seat up until a spectacular engage from Selfmade's Diana. From that point onwards, Misfits were never able to claw their way back.

Still, it *was* a good showing, and the fact that they failed to "get the job done" in no way changes the fact. We didn't expect them to win against a team as capable as Vitality -- we just wanted them to make things competitive and truly challenge the boys in white and yellow.

And that they certainly did.

There's very little one can really say about SK Gaming that hasn't already been said. They're pretty good overall, but nowhere near good *enough* for it to truly matter. They're a bottom-tier team with just two wins and six losses. They might not be all that much worse than, say, EXCEL Esports, but there's still a gap, and it warrants a mention. With all of that being said, they're not to be trifled with, and their recent win over Astralis -- insignificant though it essentially is -- has surely given them a bit of confidence.

In other words: they will not go down without a fight.
