Rogue vs Misfits

No one in their right mind thought that Rogue vs. Misfits would be as exciting a match-up as it currently is and, frankly, you just love to see it. It's rare to see a gatekeeper to transcend its inherent status and contest for a spot at the top. More often than not, it's nothing but a surge, a brief moment in time in which a team overperforms and registers a couple of upset wins before ultimately regressing back to its original position.

This Misfits line-up, however, seems to be built differently.

With eight wins on the board and an incredible 78% win percentage, it's fair to say that they're the real deal. In fact, they're amongst the very best teams in the LEC right now, despite not "looking" the part. We're all so accustomed to seeing Misfits implode that we're still taken aback with their incredible growth and overall level of play. The fact that they've done so well in one of the most competitive regions in the world also speaks volumes about their preparation and inherent talent, so credit where credit is due. They're also tied with Rogue in first place which makes this particular match-up all the more exciting!

Who'll win, however, is anyone's guess. We know for a fact that Rogue are better (hence the favorable odds), but that doesn't mean they'll execute to the best of their ability and get the "W." If the last couple of weeks have shown us anything it is the fact that they, too, can make a series of egregious mistakes and throw their leads away. It's not a frequent sight, fortunately, but it does occur from time to time.

Be that as it may, they're still one of the most capable and flexible teams in Europe, and have done way more than enough to earn our benefit of the doubt. They're all in sync and are playing some of their best League of Legends yet, so if they've prepared well and end up with a favorable draft, they shouldn't struggle too much in taking Misfits down. That said, don't expect a one-sided beatdown as Misfits have all the right tools to push Rogue to the brink of defeat and, perhaps, even pull off an upset. The gap between them is by no means insurmountable, so expect a truly competitive clash that'll be determined by the slimmest of margins!
