Immortals vs CLG

The last day of the 2022 LCS Summer Split is finally here and, depending on your personal preference and overall allegiance, you are either excited beyond measure or couldn't care less. Either way, it's an interesting moment, one that is astonishingly important for the vast majority of those competing. There's a lot on the line and, well, everyone knows it, too!

Evil Geniuses are still a cut above, with 100 Thieves and Team Liquid trailing behind them ever so slightly. The region itself is still pretty darn top-heavy, but we *have* witnessed a ton of growth from numerous different teams, Counter Logic Gaming chief among them. They stood out the most in that regard, and even though they're still mighty volatile and inconsistent, one cannot help but commend and applaud their staggering efforts — the likes of which have resulted in a most tremendous evolution.

The opening game is one that isn't, in all fairness, going to excite the roaring multitude: Counter Logic Gaming going up against Immortals is about as pedestrian and uninteresting as it gets. Still, there's definitely a reason to tune in, especially if you're partial to the boys in black and blue and want to see just how high they'll be able to climb and soar once everything is said and done.

They'll almost surely best Immortals, there's no doubt about it; what we're looking for, however, is a statement. They need as much momentum as they can possibly get before entering the postseason, especially after dropping the ball against both TSM FTX and 100 Thieves. They're a great team with a ton of potential but unless they can shore up their biggest weaknesses in the very near future, they'll run the risk of an early elimination.

This, therefore, is quite an important moment, and they'd be wise to put their best foot forward and deliver.
