Immortals vs CLG

Immortals vs. Counter Logic Gaming might not seem all that enticing, but it's actually a far more important (and, potentially, entertaining) match than most folks would lead you to believe. Now, if you're into top-tier League of Legends and the cleanest macro, you'd perhaps be wise to look elsewhere. This one's for LCS fans and pretty much no one else -- for those who are partial to NA's narratives and a bunch of beloved veterans who are still fighting their hearts out in an attempt to stay relevant.

All in all, there's definitely a reason to tune in! And that is especially true if you're a fan of Immortals' peculiar line-up: Revenge, Xerxe, PowerOfEvil, WildTurtle, and Destiny are all phenomenal in one way or another and will surely entertain us beyond measure over the coming weeks and months. They're a feisty bunch, is what they are, and will surely leave a mark in some way, shape, or form. It goes without saying, but Immortals have really won the off-season relative to what everyone had expected. Their two new signings are absolutely stellar -- lest we forget that PoE and WildTurtle both went to Worlds two years ago. They might not be the best players around in their respective roles but are nonetheless immensely talented and should, by all means, be able to push Immortals over the finish line and get them into the playoffs. Heck, it's all but guaranteed!

Xerxe will also give this team a fighting chance -- his champion ocean and cerebral style of play will no doubt serve as a boon to Immortals and their odds of leaving a mark. Now, they're not going to be dethroning 100 Thieves any time soon (if ever, really), but they'll nonetheless make things a lot more competitive (and entertaining) than any of us had expected coming into 2022.

CLG, on the other hand, won't be quite as threatening. And, frankly, that's okay. This age-old North American organization has rebuilt from the ground up and we should, therefore, adjust out expectations accordingly (assuming we have any left). They're not going to leave a mark this year. And, well, the same goes for 2023 as well. They're taking it slow and that's arguably the best possible route after so many years of absolute mediocrity. They'll pose a threat eventually, but in the meantime, their only goal is to play some acceptable League of Legends and not finish dead last. It's not the loftiest of goals, but it's pretty appropriate, all things considered.

We'll side with Immortals as they not only have more firepower but more experience as well. They're better across the board and should be able to prove it, too.
