Golden Guardians vs Evil Geniuses

To start things off we have a relatively interesting clash between the Evil Geniuses and the Golden Guardians — not exactly the most premier match-up imaginable, but it'll still suffice entertainment-wise. Evil Geniuses are currently riding quite an impressive four-game winstreak and, perhaps most importantly, have improved leaps and bounds from week one. They're still as volatile as ever, but they're a bit more focused and have improved individually as well.

Jiizuke, for instance, is playing out of his mind and is currently one of the best mid laners in North America — quite impressive given whom he's playing against. By the same token, Svenskeren has finally stepped up after getting benched in favor of Contractz — we're finally seeing the Svenskeren of old: omnipresent, mechanically gifted, and unrelenting in aggression. They're fun to watch, in short, and they'll only get better and better as time goes one. Whether they'll be able to leave a mark once all is said and done still remains to be seen, but right now, at this point in time, they're one of the better teams in the LCS, so let's just keep it at that. It's never wise to predict what'll happen whenever Evil Geniuses take the stage as there are never any guarantees — they're as inconsistent as it gets, and they know it, too. They're aware that they have a long road ahead of them if they intend on challenging the LCS status quo, and are actually putting in the hours so as to stand a chance.

Likewise, the Golden Guardians — while nowhere near as capable or dangerous — have done incredibly well given whom they have competing under their banner. This team has been able to string a couple of fairly impressive showings despite not having even a single hardcarry or superstar player within their ranks. They deserve a ton of praise and commendation for how fast they've grown, and even though they won't be challenging the LCS creap of the crop any time soon they've nonetheless earned our respect.

In the end, we'll have to go with Evil Geniuses on this one. They are by no means the epitome of consistency, but they won't have to be perfect in execution to get their hands raised against the Golden Guardians — they can afford to make a couple of mistakes as they're better across the board and should be able to prove it tonight as well.
