Gen.G esports vs T1

The moment we've all been waiting for: a clash between two towering giants, both of which have a shot at claiming — or, in T1's case, defending — the LCK throne. There's so much talent between them it's not even fair towards the rest of the region; they're *that* good, and their results and awe-inspiring records serve as proof.

The interesting thing, however, is that T1 have sort of regressed as the split progressed. They're still an obscenely capable team, but they're not as commanding as was the case just a few months prior. The same happened to Royal Never Give Up as well — it's like they ran out of "steam" after this year's Mid-Season Invitational. And, well, it's a totally rational development, assuming it's true. For those competing at the highest of levels, the competitive season is both extremely long *and* astoundingly taxing, so it should really come as no surprise that so many teams happen to fall off performance-wise near the tail end of it all.

Just look at RNG: they won MSI two times in a row and yet missed out on *both* World Championships. That along speaks volumes. Even the most resilient teams in the world have a limit, and this may well be the point where T1 meet theirs.

Gen.G are actually favored here and, well, we're not particularly surprised at that being the case. The odds are still a bit wonky, though — it's like everyone's already counting T1 out which, historically speaking, is tremendously ill-advised. They always find a way to win, no matter the odds. Whether that'll happen this time around as well still remains to be seen, but deep down we feel like this really is Gen.G's time to shine.

They're simply playing better League of Legends right now, and that's not something that T1 can "fix" and circumvent in a week or two's time. Gen.G have a tremendous advantage in regards to the meta and their champion pools, and if they play as well as they did thus far they should, by all means, be able to emerge victorious — bloodied and bruised beyond measure, sure, but victorious nonetheless. The odds on T1 "upsetting" sure are alluring, but they're deemed the underdogs here for a very good reason.

If you're feeling adventurous, betting on T1 to win might be worth your while — this legendary organization has defied the odds many a time in the past, so it sure as heck wouldn't be an irrational decision. Be that as it may, we'll go with Gen.G on this one and hope for the best.
