G2 Esports vs Astralis

We're in a very strange position here, one that we did not anticipate whatsoever. Astralis are coming in hot after taking down Rogue in the most spectacular of fashions. They also gave Vitality a run for their money just a week ago which means that their win over the boys in blue wasn't a result of sheer happenstance but a thoroughly calculated effort.

So, are they... good now? That's not an easy question to answer. In fact, it's probably nigh impossible. Our gut says "no" but it's getting harder and harder to deny it. Now, they're still not a playoff contender nor even a mid-tier gatekeeper, but they can obviously play some very good League of Legends from time to time and they deserve a bit of respect. Not too much respect, of course, but still. They're better than expected, and have grown tremendously from week one. Granted, it's easier to improve when you're as bad as they were, but the point stands nonetheless.

G2, on the other hand, have reached a very respectable level and are currently amongst the best teams in the LEC -- Top 2, in fact. The gap between them and Rogue might be insurmountable at this point in time, but they're at least head and shoulders above everyone else. Their dominant wins over Fnatic and MAD serve as proof.

They, too, are aware of Astralis' unexpected surge, and we're pretty sure they've done their home work. It'd be quite embarrassing for them to drop the ball here, so they'll surely come out the gates swinging. Then again, G2 are known for throwing caution out the window and skirmishing when it's least advisable. We wouldn't be surprised if they went for a bit of "cheese" -- they want to have fun and fool around, which is why we're always so wary whenever they're up against these bottom-dwellers. That's when they tend to experiment and "limit test" the most.

Be that as it may, they're still not out of the woods, so to speak. Getting a win here would allow G2 to enlarge the gap between them and the rest of their competitors, so they'll probably be on their best behavior. Well, that's our hope at least.
