Evil Geniuses vs Golden Guardians

Finally, to close out the week, we have a somewhat interesting clash between Evil Geniuses and the Golden Guardians. Now, this is by no means a spectacle in the making, but given GGS' improvement (and EG's evident regression), this might end up being a lot more entertaining (and competitive) than most folks expect.

Now, let's not build up any unnecessary suspense: Evil Geniuses are heavily favored, as you can already tell by the odds. Still, they haven't been playing all that well lately, and their few flashes of brilliance are in no way enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt. Their talent is undeniable, but we seldom get to see it in action. They're volatile, inconsistent, and a bit too brash for their own good. They go for plays they have no business going for, and fight like they have a lead even when there's no lead to speak of. And let's not even start about their many individual mistakes and mechanical fumbles. When they're "in the zone" they're quite a formidable opponent, one that can definitely trade blows with the who's who of the LCS. When that isn't the case, though, they're one of the least impressive teams in the LCS. The gap between these two states is so immense it might as well be called a canyon.

Svenskeren has pretty much been a complete non-factor, and the same goes for their recently promoted Academy AD carry Danny. Jiizuke is both hot and cold, with nothing in between. He'll either hardcarry the game by himself or implode trying (at the most random of moments). Impact and IgNar are generally consistent, but they can only do so much when the rest of the team is running it down.

Still, we know for a fact that they're better and more talented than the Golden Guardians. They're favored in this one, and with good reason. Whether they'll execute to the best of their ability and get another win on the board still remains to be seen, but they have all the right tools to emerge victorious, so we'll give them the nod on this one.
