Evil Geniuses vs Cloud9

This is where things get a whole lot more interesting: a clash of two exceptional teams — we're talking about two hyperbolic giants here, both of which have the tools to go the proverbial distance and leave some kind of a mark in the grand scheme of things. Evil Geniuses are definitely a cut above, with more synergy and a clearer identity through which they compete, but the gap isn't nearly as insurmountable as it might seem at first glance.

Cloud9 are a very real threat, and they know it, too. They might not be the most consistent team around, but they have an incredibly high skill ceiling and can, by all means, trade blows with the LCS pantheon — they're a deserving member, too.

Evil Geniuses, however, are the number one team for a very good reason. They're not perfect either, but they sure can pack a punch, and their peaks are mighty impressive as well — they're a force to be reckoned with, and they only need a few more wins to secure a spot at the 2022 World Championship.

This is basically a clash of styles and approaches. Both teams share many traits and virtues: they're aggressive, mechanically gifted, and can pretty much play and win through any lane they so desire. EG do, however, have more synergy, and they've been smacking teams around for a lot longer than Cloud9 which should, in theory, give them a palpable edge over the boys in black and blue.

That being said, it's not going to be easy. Cloud9 are motivated beyond measure and they'll put up a tremendous fight from start to finish, so expect a hectic, skirmish-heavy affair that could, by all means, go either way.
