100 Thieves vs Team Dignitas

100 Thieves taking on Dignitas in a Best of 3 is about as underwhelming a set-up as one can imagine. There's really no other way to phrase it. On the one side we have the reigning, defending LCS champions, and one of the best and most capable teams ever assembled on North American soil. On the other, a mid-tier gatekeeper -- at best.

That's... not exactly a hype match-up, all things considered. And there's no "what if" either. Dignitas *will* lose, and it's not going to be close whatsoever. The gap between these two teams is astoundingly great, and it will never be narrowed. There's simply no hope for the boys in black and yellow.

With that being said, they definitely have a reason to try their hardest; there's always a lot that a team can learn, even in one-sided defeats. Observing those better than you can, in fact, catalyze growth. Well, at least if you take those losses in stride, watch the VODs, and draw as many conclusions and learn as many lessons as you possibly can. It's not as easy as it sounds, of course, but at least there's a silver lining in all of this.

For 100 Thieves, there's really nothing to be gained. They'll probably start with Tenacity so they might not blow Dignitas out of the water, but win they almost certainly will. It's basically guaranteed. They're better in every way, shape, and form; they have more synergy, more mechanical prowess, more experience, and are well equipped to beat Dignitas to a pulp and advance into the semifinals in the most dominant fashion imaginable. Dignitas will surely put up a fight, there's no doubt about it, but it won't change a damn thing.

Still, that fact alone makes this a fairly alluring Best of 3. Not exactly a must watch, but it's worth tuning in to regardless.
