100 Thieves vs Immortals

This is where things get a bit more interesting. Then again, it's still a mismatch, so whether or not it'll deliver remains to be seen. 100 Thieves are heavily favored and there's a very good reason why — they're better across the board, both as individuals and as a five-man unit. They're not perfect, though, but it's hard to imagine a world in which Immortals — inherently flawed as they are — pull off an upset. To their credit, they *have* done it before, although those moments happened so infrequently that they can only be deemed as short flashes in the pan rather than anything else.

They're a solid team, frankly speaking, with fairly pronounced strengths and weaknesses. They're not a titan of competitive League nor will they ever become one, but they're not a travesty either. Still, even at their best, they pale in comparison to 100 Thieves who have all the hallmarks of a bona fide title contender. They won't win the LCS any time soon, but they'll give the perennial North American giants a run for their money. With Abbedagge in the mid lane, they've essentially shored up their biggest weakness from Spring. Whether that'll be enough for them to finally leave a mark still remains to be seen, but the odds are definitely on their side.

Moreover, with Reapered at the helm, it's like they've found all the missing pieces of the puzzle. We're still hesitant to board the 100T hype train, but if they start the split off swinging for the fences we won't have much choice. The only question now is: will they be able to compete with Team SoloMid for that oh-so-important Top 3 finish? There's a ticket to the World Championship on the line, and that's the only thing that matters to 100 Thieves as they're well aware that winning the LCS won't be an option in 2021 — they're just not good enough to compete on even footing with Cloud9 and Team Liquid (at least not yet).

In the end, we simply have to side with 100 Thieves on this one. It's really the only logical option. It might be a lot more competitive than the odds would suggest, but 100T should, by all means, be able to emerge victorious.
