100 Thieves vs Evil Geniuses

What an absolute barnburner! 100 Thieves vs. Evil Geniuses has "fireworks" written all over it and, much like any other match-up between top-tier teams these days, predicting the outcome with any semblance of confidence feels nigh impossible. Both teams have the tools to win. Both teams have ups and downs, swings in performance that'll make your head spin. And, well, they both tend to lose when you least expect them to. 100 Thieves have obviously done a lot more thus far, but Evil Geniuses have low-key been one of the best teams in North America — contrary to what we thought was going to happen coming into the second half of 2021.

They're still as volatile as ever (and prone to throwing their leads away in the most dramatic of fashions), but they're a lot more cohesive this time around, and are obviously more cognizant of their virtues and avenues for success. They know what they're good at and have doubled down on their biggest strengths -- to great success, one might add. They're still shaky execution-wise, but they've been winning quite a lot lately, so it's hard to fully criticize them. They might struggle once the playoffs come around, but right now, they don't have anything to fear. Their six-game winstreak attests to the fact, too.

They've stringed wins over Team SoloMid, Dignitas QNTMPAY, FlyQuest, Counter Logic Gaming, Golden Guardians, and Immortals. All in all, quite an impressive streak. Still, they've yet to challenge the upper echelon of the LCS, and win on a consistent basis. A few runaway wins here and there won't amount to much if they cannot truly harness their inherent potential and make a solid enough run.

In any case, we'll side with 100 Thieves on this one. They're better across the board and are surely looking to get back to their winning ways after getting upset by GGS yesterday.
