Unicorns of Love vs Royal Never Give Up

Group A feels like a bad case of “Groundhog’s Day” but at least we’re being entertained so not all is grim! Well, that’s only the case if you’re into chaotic, skirmish-heavy League of Legends. If that’s not your “jam” then you’re probably bored out of your mind and are eagerly awaiting the Rumble and Knockout stages of this year’s Mid-Season Invitational.

We already know the outcome of this match, so there’s very little uncertainty involved. Still, both Royal Never Give Up and Unicorns of Love tend to go the extra mile and are entertainers first and foremost. Moreover, they have both the mechanical prowess and the sheer flexibility which are necessary to both trade blows and entertain us beyond measure in the process. The fact that RNG will win doesn’t mean there’s no reason to tune in. On the contrary! Their first clash with UOL earlier today was an absolute slobberknocker and, if it’s anything to go by, this upcoming rematch should definitely deliver in much the same way. The fact that the Unicorns managed to nearly ace RNG on multiple occassions despite being behind in gold (we’re talking seven or eight thousand gold deficits here) is a true testament to their feistiness and sheer grit. Of course, it didn’t matter much in the grand scheme of things, but they deserve praise regardless.

All in all, we’re siding with Royal Never Give Up on this one as it’s the only logical choice. They’ve started making more mistakes lately which means they’re probably bored and want the Group Stage to be over as soon as possible. Still, even if they decide to fool around and experiment they should still be able to emerge victorious — they’re simply too darn good at this point in time, and Unicorns, talented thought they are, lack the tools to compete with the LPL giants. Still, we’re bound to be entertained, so make sure to tune in!
