Team We vs Samsung Galaxy

With SKT T1 being the first team to get to the finals (as they did in every single year that they competed at the World championship), all eyes are set on the final semifinal clash in order to determine whether we will have another Korea vs. Korea final like last year, or if there will be some "fresh blood".

So far, after Samsung destroyed Longzhu Gaming in incredibly dominant fashion it's looking like the former rather than the latter, but the LPL's third seed might be able to surprise a lot of people. Their series against Cloud9 however was a complete mess - they showcased exactly what makes them so deadly, and yet at the same time fragile, chaotic and lost when it matters the most.

All eyes are set on Condi, xiye and especially Mystic. They have the right tools - the mechanically sound jungler and the carry hungry for the spotlight, however when fighting against Samsung Galaxy things get very complicated very quickly. They're up against Ruler, Crown, Ambition and one of the best if not the best top laner at the tournament - CuVee. The sheer force they used to outclass Longzhu was astounding, and there is no doubt whether they can have a repeat performance. These players however aren't one-dimensional, they have the tools and the experience to take SKT to five games, let alone an inconsistent Team WE that almost lost against Cloud9 in the quarterfinals. They went the distance and reached the finals in 2016 and they're poised to do the same once again. Not a lot of people believed in them, however they managed to take down arguably the biggest threat in the tournament - Longzhu. In theory, things can only get easier from now on. (however we will have to reassess that statement if Samsung reaches the finals)

That said, Longzhu made a couple of jarring errors starting from the draft phase in that series - most notably giving away Sejuani and Tristana three times in a row. Games went from fairly close to incredibly dominant very quickly, and it was all done in just under three hours. All the hype built from the LCK Summer Split just died instantly.

This is a complex match to predict on paper, however in reality it probably won't be a close affair. It is a complicated series however, their playstyles completely differ. Samsung focus on the mid and especially the late game, while Team WE focuses and creates their biggest leads along the early games, and then put it into overdrive when the late game comes.

They're very experienced, and they have the perfect playstyle to emerge victorious tomorrow. That said, don't be surprised if Team WE come out swinging from the very first minute, and make this series incredibly close and competitive. After all, LPL teams bring a very special flavor of aggressiveness and chaos.
