Team Liquid vs Team Dignitas

To start the week off, we have a rather interesting clash between Team Liquid and Team Dignitas. Now, perhaps "interesting" isn't the most apt way to describe it, but it's not far off either, depending on your allegiance and what you're looking for in such an inherently one-sided match-up.

First of all, Liquid has locked in their playoff spot. That, in itself, is absolutely huge and it means they'll be able to play without much fear or reserve. They've also just taken down Cloud9 in fairly clean and commanding fashion, so they're riding quite a big momentum wave. At their best, they have all the right tools to compete with the LCS champions on even footing and -- potentially -- even win, depending on their preparation and how well Cloud9 performs on that given day.

They're far from perfect, and there's a bevy of problems we could point out, like Broxah's performance and the team's over-reliance on late game team comps. Still, they do many things right, and with CoreJJ, Impact, and Jensen all playing out of their minds, it's hard not to give them the benefit of the doubt. Their recent coaching staff changes also revitalized this team in more ways than one, and the fact that have a metric ton of experience and grit means they'll fight for every inch of the Summoner's Rift regardless of whom they're up against.

Dignitas, on the other hand, is quite underwhelming. At their best, they're not too shabby, but baffling roster changes and abysmal decision-making have plagued their play from day one. While they can, at times, punch above their weight class, they are by no means favored to accomplish much in the grand scheme of things. Johnsun and Aphromoo are playing some exquisite League of Legends, but they cannot do it alone, and even when the rest of the team steps up they're still lacking as a five-man unit. There's just nothing overly impressive about them, although they're certainly a dangerous opponent once they get into their groove.

Either way, Liquid is better in every conceivable way and they should, without a doubt, be able to get the win in relatively clean and one-sided fashion.
