Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses
At long last! With CoreJJ finally getting his green card approved, Team Liquid have pretty much assembled the whole "Exodia." The fact that they were one of the most frightening teams in North America *without* one of the best and most storied supports in the world makes it all the more incredible. If they were that darn good without their full line-up, we cannot help but wonder how high they'll be able to soar now that CoreJJ has entered the fray!
He isn't just some random support player -- he's a bona fide legend with a heavily populated trophy case and a former world champion. Talk about a stacked resume, sheesh! If Team Liquid were able to win Lock-In without him, it's hard not to be worried for 100 Thieves and their chances once the playoffs come around; TL should now be deemed as the biggest favorites, given their immense skill ceiling and the fact that they have some of the very best players around.
And, to make things even better, we'll now get to see them in action against a very dangerous and most capable challenger: Evil Geniuses! This'll essentially be a repeat of the LCS Lock-In finals, so you can darn certain both teams will come out the gates looking to make a statement and impose their dominance. They're currently tied in first place with three wins each so this is by no means an insignificant clash -- it'll have far-reaching implications for both teams as it'll affect their position in the standings both in the short- and long-term.
In the end, we simply have to side with TL on this one, especially now that they have one of the best shotcallers in NA by their side. In all fairness, they might be a fair bit less cohesive seeing how they've become accustomed to playing with Eyla, but this (potential) regression shouldn't end up making that big of a difference.
