Team Liquid vs CLG
So many upsets have happened over the last few days that we're somewhat wary of what could happen once TL and CLG step foot on stage to compete. Every fiber of our being says that TL will blow CLG out of the water and maintain their position in the standings, but we thought the same for Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves -- and yet both of them dropped the ball hard against teams everyone thought were noticeably less capable and dangerous.
CLG are not a capable bunch, that much we can say with confidence, and the fact that they've beaten Cloud9 yesterday pretty much changes nothing. They're just not talented enough to compete, which isn't that big of a debacle seeing how their roster was never assembled with the goal of winning LCS; instead, it's all about small, incremental gains and the bigger, long-term picture.
The fact that people are flaming them and pointing out their many flaws is somewhat baffling precisely because it was erroneous to ever expect anything better from such a young line-up, one that was thrown together using an incredibly modest budget. Of course they were going to end up near the very bottom of the standings, and of course they were going to get smacked around by pretty much everyone. They're a punching bag, and that's not going to change at any point of the 2022 competitive season.
We're not going to waste your time by talking about any potential miracle run or what have you -- it's impossible, especially given just how competitive the LCS has been lately. CLG have the least potential out of all ten teams, and even though players like Luger and Palafox can, at times, impress us with their stellar play, that is by no means enough to net them any kind of momentum.
Our choice here is not only clear but also totally logical.
