Team Liquid vs CLG

It seems that Team Liquid is a team cut from a different kind of cloth. It's easy to forget that they had a historic fall from grace mere months ago, and yet here they are, sitting one win above the defending champions Cloud9, with sole possession of first place. Let that one sink in. It's baffling, really. The amount of resilience, mental fortitude, and sheer grit that's necessary to make a turnaround from ninth place to first is just mind-blowing. And yet Liquid made it look easy.

Granted, no one doubted the potential of this happening, but it's still a surprise to see them pull it off with such staggering ease -- and against some stiff competition, to boot. Liquid has two former World champions, along with a Worlds finalist and semifinalist. How can such a line-up *not* succeed? With such a staggering amount of talent, they were bound to find success sooner or later. Even their one rookie has been showing immense potential from the very first moment he stepped foot on the LCS stage. They deserve all the praise they've been getting, and the same goes for their head coach Jatt (formerly of the LCS broadcast team) who has managed to turn this team around in record time. Watching them compete is an absolute treat, and even though they haven't been particularly dominant in their early games, they've almost always found a way to win which is the only thing that actually matters.

Opposite them, we have none other than Counter Logic Gaming. Now, their Summer Split has been somewhat successful given the talent CLG had to work with, but they're still underwhelming across the board and with just five wins to their name, they're almost guaranteed to miss out on the playoffs. That said, they have all the right tools to compete with the best teams the LCS has to offer before eventually making an egregious error or two that seals their fate. They're bound to lose against Team Liquid tonight, but they won't go down without a fight. And who knows, if Pobelter manages to pop off in patented Pobelter ways, maybe they can even give Liquid a run for their money. Stranger things have happened recently, so proceed with caution.
