Team Dignitas vs FlyQuest

There's very little rhyme or reason behind what's going on in the North American LCS. If you're into safe bets and easy predictions, then you might as well look for another region to bet on, at least for the time being. In true LCS fashion, top-tier behemoths are dropping games, mid-tier gatekeepers are overperforming, and bottom-tier dwellers have been putting up a much bigger fight than anyone thought was possible. But that's just another day at the office as far as the LCS as concerned. Still, it's a bit baffling (and irritating) to see such an abundance of chaos, despite being at the halfway point of the split. You'd think that, by now, most teams would have a bit of cohesion, not to mention a coherent identity to call their own.

And yet that just isn't the case, and the reason why varies noticeably from team to team. This time around, we'll witness an endlessly fascinating clash between two mid-tier contenders. Now, first of all, neither of these two teams will challenge for the LCS throne any time soon (if ever, frankly). But they're good, they're confident, and are playing some very respectable League of Legends. They're also severely flawed, easily exploitable, and have more weaknesses than you can shake a stick at. So, it stands to reason to expect a skirmish-heavy brawl with a lot of bloodshed — precisely what fans want most!

Who's favored to win, however, is anyone's guess at this point in time. On paper, FlyQuest definitely has the edge, despite having fewer grizzled veterans. If Licorice doesn't step up and hard carry, they're just not good enough to compete on even footing (at least not right now). Dignitas, on the other hand, has no business being this good and dominant. They're by no means a superteam, but what they lack in starpower they more than make up for in sheer grit and aggression. They're not exactly brute-forcing their wins, but they're finding them in one way or another, and that's the only thing that matters. They're also coming in hot after taking down Evil Geniuses which, naturally, threw a wrench in everyone's mid-split power rankings. It was just one game, of course, but Dignitas won fair and square, and they're also sitting on a very respectable 4W-2L record — not too shabby for a presumed bottom-tier dweller!

In the end, we'll have to side with Dignitas on this one but we're not doing so with full confidence. This game, in all fairness, could truly go either way, and it'll all depend on which team drafts better and manages to dictate the pace of the game early on. Dignitas, at least thus far, has been vastly better at those two things, so we're giving them our benefit of the doubt on this one. Either way, expect absolute chaos across the board!
