Team Dignitas vs CLG

On the one hand, we have a team that is far more dangerous and cohesive than anyone had expected, and on the other, the quintessential bottom-dweller — who can, in all fairness, put up a fight.

This isn't exactly a spectacle in the making, but it’s still worth the watch, especially if you’re invested in the “Dignitas party bus.” They've just dropped their first game, but it was still a fairly commendable showing and a wholly acceptable loss given the circumstances.

There’s no shame in losing to a team like Evil Geniuses, especially not if you can put up as big a fight as Dignitas did.

They did many things right and had a phenomenal early game. They didn’t, however, push their lead hard enough and snowball in time. They were fighting against the clock and EG eventually prevailed — to absolutely no one’s surprise. Dignitas simply didn’t do enough once the mid game came around. They were looking for an opening that never came, always unsure of what needed to be done against the dreaded enchanter top with Smite.

They probably didn’t think that Evil Geniuses would go for such a thing, seeing how they have mechanics and depth for days. And, well, it took us by surprise, too. In the end, though, it was by no means a shoddy performance, nor one that Dignitas should be ashamed of. They’ll go back to the drawing board and shore things up.

Their next opponents won’t be nearly as big of a challenge — Counter Logic Gaming is currently 0W-3L and, by the looks of it, they’re going to remain winless for the foreseeable future.

There aren’t many reasons to tune in, in all fairness. The biggest one pertains to your allegiance — if you’re a fan of Dignitas then you’ll tune in regardless if we advise you to or not. Or, alternatively, you might be interested in seeing the next “breed” of LCS talent, some of which happens to be playing under CLG’s banner — although their play hasn’t been nearly as impressive and infused with zest as it was throughout the LCS Lock-In.

At the very least, it’ll be a fight between two teams that love to skirmish, so why not tune in? Their play might not be particularly clean or commanding, but they’re still incredibly fun to watch and never go down without a fight.

Dignitas have obviously been a lot more impressive thus far, but CLG shouldn’t be counted out just yet. They can put on a show — they just can’t do it as often as some of their peers.
