T1 vs Gen.G esports

We're somewhat confused by these lopsided odds. 1.25 for T1 to win the split, against Gen.G? That doesn't *feel* right, even though we certainly understand the reasoning behind it. T1 are, quite simply, a competitive LoL behemoth, and they have the record to prove it, too: 18-0. A feat worthy of the highest praise, a feat accomplished by only a handful of teams throughout the many years of pro play, and a surefire indication that we're in the presence of absolute greatness.

Not that anyone had any doubts.

It's hard to fault T1 for anything given just how dominant and impressive they've been throughout the entire split. They yet to face Gen.G's full line-up, though, so we have next to no usable information to base our assumptions (and subsequent prediction) upon. That's not that big of an issue overall given just how staggeringly commanding T1 have been, but it's definitely something one ought to keep in mind.

Gen.G will be entering this Best of 5 with a metric ton of hype after beating DWG KIA last week. That game five reversal — the one when they clawed back from a ten thousand gold deficit — still lingers in the back our minds. It was an immense showing from everyone involved, and that especially holds true for the legend himself Chovy. He was their most important catalyst and, well, that's hardly a surprise given his immense talent and ability to make the game-winning play.

Still, the fact that they clawed their way back from such a deficit should in no way cloud our judgement. And, well, if we were to be fully honest here, they shouldn't have found themselves at such a big deficit in the first place. It's commendable that they were able to persevere amidst such challenging circumstances, but it definitely doesn't bode well given whom they have to face next.

T1 is on a whole 'nother level. They can draft basically anything and *still* lap everyone with ease. Faker, in particular, keeps finding new ways to blow our minds. He *has* been playing a more supportive style, that much is both true and obvious, but he can still whip out the occasional LeBlanc and wreck house as if it were the easiest thing in the world. The guy's the GOAT for a very good reason and there's no one out there who can come even remotely close his level of reverence and admiration. Everyone else on T1 is cracked at LoL, too, but one cannot talk about this legendary organization without first mentioning the "Demon King" himself.

All in all, Gen.G have a very good shot at making this competitive. They could also get a win or two on the board, but that's about as much as we're willing to give them. They're going up against a line-up some folks deem superior to the one DWG KIA had back in 2020 -- that alone says volumes. Our choice here is clear: T1 is the better team and they'll surely prove it, too. Whether they end up dropping a game or two along the way is less important as it won't affect the final outcome.
