KT Rolster vs Team Liquid

Worlds 2018 starts off with a bang as the top hyped Korean team KT Rolster will face off against one of NA regions main hopes in Team Liquid.

Team Liquid has really shown they are a force to be reckoned with after trouncing most of their opposition in the NA LCS Summer and the playoffs, mainly after excellent play by Doublelift who has been a revelation for TL in their bot lane. Combined with Olleh and the rest of the supporting cast in this case, TL is looking to take this years World Championship of LOL by storm.

However, I do not believe they will be doing so in their first match. They are starting off against KT Rolster from Korea, arguably one of the favorites to win Worlds 2018, and that is with good reason. A recent article put up by Riot's analysts listing their top 20 players at Worlds has KT Rolster with 5 (!) of their players in the top 20. Team Liquid has one, and it is Doublelift at #20.

Note that KT Rolster might not have any exceptional star studded players, but rather a bunch of solid team players. All of them are capable of deciding a game, and combine this with their excellent team play capabilities and strong coordination, I just don't see how TL can pull an upset here, although I personally would like to root for NA to start off strong here.

Definitely back KT Rolster to take the first game of Worlds 2018, but I do believe we will see a quick turnaround from TL after that.
