Immortals vs Team SoloMid

There's still no consensus on what exactly went down between TSM and C9 yesterday. Many plays were attempted by the boys in black and blue and about as many had failed. TSM, for arguably the first time this split, looked like a team, like a somewhat cohesive unit with a clear game plan in mind and *just* enough confidence to play it out appropriately.

And so now we have to wonder: was this just a singular instance of them getting together and executing (and, therefore, a moment that will not repeat itself any time soon) or an indication that things really have fallen into place and that better days await them?

We haven't the foggiest clue, but we *will* find out soon enough. Both scenarios are possible, although the first one *does* seem more likely. In any case, it was a mighty impressive showing, even though the circumstances surrounding it cannot be easily explained or comprehended.

And, well, with TSM winning, we might as well proclaim Immortals as the absolute worst team in the LCS. Writing such a sentence makes one feel weird, as if a blatant lie was written without hesitation, but it's the truth, and their six-game losing streak attests to it. They're not exactly dreadful, but if they cannot get a win on the board, what does it matter? We've been expecting their resurgence for weeks and yet it still hasn't come. We've been giving them the benefit of the doubt since day one and yet none of it has been earned or deserved. They're abysmal as a five-man unit, and a few incredible moments sprinkled throughout the last seven weeks are not enough to have us change our mind. We've reached the point of indifference. Everyone has, frankly.

Both teams are incredibly flawed. It's *baffling* how flawed they are, really. And while we still think that Immortals are the better team, betting on them simply wouldn't make any sense after what TSM did to Cloud9 yesterday. That one win changed things, in small but incredibly vital ways. We don't know if they'll do the same to IMT, but they have a shot and they're surely motivated and confident beyond measure after styling over what most analysts deem as the absolute best team in NA.
