Golden Guardians vs 100 Thieves

As far as opening matches go, this is quite an exciting one, although not for the reasons one would expect. 100 Thieves are obviously the heavy favorites here, but we'd be remiss if we didn't give out a few compliments over to the Golden Guardians -- they're actually playing some very good LoL and have been very creative and original in nearly all of their outings.

That's quite commendable and their off-meta drafts and champion picks have already separated them from the vast majority of their peers in the absolute best possible way. They're not exactly a threat to anyone (not yet at least), but they can still put up a fight and are already far more cohesive than one would expect seeing how they've had just a couple of weeks to practice and figure stuff out.

We're talking about five very talented players here, so the fact that they're fending for themselves and have accrued a .500 record really shouldn't come as a surprise. How well they'll perform over the coming weeks still remains to be seen, but if they keep this up they will definitely be able to challenge for a spot in the Top 6; well, in theory at least -- there are still many possible scenarios for GGS, and not all of them are positive.

In any case, the reason why we're saying all of this is rather simple: they'll put up a fight and make things a lot more entertaining than the odds would imply. They're creative, flexible, and obviously pretty darn good on an individual level. There's still not a lot of synergy to speak of but they're feisty and resilient, and that's more than enough at this early point of the season.

Betting on 100 Thieves is the only option that makes sense, and even though they aren't particularly consistent either, they're still one of the most dangerous and stacked teams in NA.
