G2 Esports vs Origen

For our final match of the day we have an absolute spectacle on our hands -- the match of the week between G2 Esports and Origen. This is, without a doubt, a fight between the two best teams in the region right now. They're the most capable of the bunch in no small part because of their stellar read of the meta.

G2 Esports have looked downright fantastic over their last three outings, but they were not without fault. Not even close, in fact. Their early games still leave a lot to be desired, and while they're coming in hot after dismantling Team Vitality in extremely one-sided fashion, they're still slow to start and are a bit weaker when it comes to transitioning their early leads (if they have any) into the mid game. They're also a bit unstable on an individual level, although that highly depends on the opponent they're facing. They still haven't had a test as tough as Origen, so it'll be fun to see how well they've acclimated to their updated line-up against an opponent of Origen's caliber.

Speaking of Origen, they've looked every bit as spectacular, but their wins were much more controlled. They didn't win through any mind-blowing means but rather through stellar team play and team cohesion. They stood out on an individual level, but also as a five-man unit. They're incredibly sound and strong lane for lane, and they're not as unhinged or risk-prone as G2 Esports. That's both a positive and a negative, but because they don't risk as much, they might actually stand a chance this time around.

Make no mistake -- G2 Esports are the favorites in this one, but even if they do win it won't be a landslide victory. Origen will not go down without a fight, and they have every tool which is necessary to emerge victorious as well. If this was a Best of 5 no one in their right mind would give them the benefit of the doubt, but seeing how this is just a single game, Origen might as well be able to pull it off. The odds are too high for us not to risk anything, and Origen's most recent showings definitely infuse us with confidence. Their drafts have been phenomenal, and the same goes for their play and team cohesion. The fact that everyone's still adapting to the meta (and each other) is even more reason to bet on an upset -- G2 Esports are prone to fooling around when there's nothing on the line.

That said, if you're looking for a safe bet, then you might as well either skip this one entirely or go with the defending champions.
