G2 Esports vs Machi E-Sports

G2 Esports vs. Machi might not be the most hype match-up of the day, but it's still insanely exciting, especially if you've already watched their first clash from a couple of days ago. Needless to say, these two teams share much of the same virtues: supreme confidence, flexible champion pools, non-stop aggression, and more than enough mechanical prowess to execute nearly any game plan or strategy.

Granted, there's still a discrepancy between the two teams (as is natural given which regions they're representing), but the point still stands. That's why Machi was able to keep things so competitive the first time they faced the perennial "Kings of Europe." That's basically what matters most: execution once things go down to the wire. How cleanly does a team set things up? How fast is the entire line-up to react once their backs are against the wall? Naturally, G2 Esports excels at most of these things -- they're the best and most stacked LEC team in history, after all. But despite their staggering talent, they're far from perfect, as evidenced by their sloppy plays, baffling engages, and egregious drafting. They've nearly lost to Suning, and their willingness to fool around cost them the game against Team Liquid as well. Of course, they're still the heavy favorites to get out of their group as the number one seed, but if they're not careful they might drop the ball. It wouldn't be the first time either.

Finishing first is of the utmost importance. That way, they'd have preferential seeding for the quarterfinals and would, in turn, face a lower ranked team from another group. This means they wouldn't face any tournament favorites until the semifinals (at least), which is definitely a positive thing, not just for G2 but for the many LEC faithfulls scattered across the globe as well. This one game against Machi is an absolute must win because it's one of the easiest match-ups in the entire group. The gap between G2 and Suning is not that big, which means G2 needs to deliver against lower-ranked opponents.

They're not going to have it easy against Machi, but they're favored for a reason. Either way, we should be in for quite a hectic, skirmish-heavy affair!
