Fnatic vs Immortals

As we enter the group stage, the eyes of every Westerner are set on their own teams. Everyone is hoping that this is the year when other regions will upset the status quo. However before any potential quarter or semifinal matchup with a Korean giant, teams have to go through a double round robin.

One of the most interesting matchups by far is in group B. With Longzhu Gaming being the tournament favorites, it's hard not giving them the first spot. However that leaves the second one up for grabs between Immortals, Fnatic and the Gigabyte Marines.

With Gigabyte Marines coming in with a weaker roster than at this year's Mid-Season Invitational, almost everyone is expecting that either Fnatic or Immortals to take second. This is where things get very interesting, as both these teams stack up really well on an individual level.

Immortals however have two big factors and advantages, and those are Xmithie and Olleh. While Broxah is the young, playmaking jungler, Xmithie brings his vast experience and shotcalling. While early aggression builds leads early, it's the veteran experience that wins out in the most clutch moments. The meta suits him incredibly well, as he can play both tanks and fighters/carries in the jungle, which brings us to Immortals' second advantage.

Olleh, regarded by many as the 2017 Summer MVP brings a completely different playstyle to the table. His constant roams, invades and aggressive early vision were often the deciding factor in most of the games that they've played. If Caps has a tendency to overextend and get caught while playing recklessly, having an Olleh on the opposing team will make his life that much harder.

Paired with great staff and an experienced, highly respected coach in Ssong, Immortals should be able to take this game without much trouble.
