FlyQuest vs Team Dignitas
This is the kind of fringe match-up that only a handful of fans are looking forward to. There's nothing on the line here seeing how both teams will almost surely be making the playoffs cut. Still, they're in dire need of some momentum and a win here would not only improve their record but it would also separate them in the standings even further -- and that's no small thing given just how close they are to one another.
So, who's gonna win? Well, to put it as short and sweet as possible, we haven't the foggiest idea. Matches in which two gatekeeper face each other are impossible to predict and prognosticate. Anyone who claims otherwise is, frankly, lying. It's always a stab in the dark, an improvization, a guess based on a very limited amount of knowledge. Both teams have had great moments, moments during which they really did look like a threat. But, as is so often the case, these instances were short-lived and they're probably not going to occur ever again. It sounds harsh, we know, but as their opponents continue to grow and improve, both FlyQuest and Dignitas will find it harder and harder to compete and actually do some damage. Their potential is inherently limited. They, too, might improve a bit over the next few weeks but they'll no longer going to be able to compete with their more capable contemporaries.
A few good weeks and a few upset wins are all they're going to get. They could also (eventually) lock in a spot in the playoffs, but they're not going accomplish noteworthy -- they're just not good enough, although they certainly will try. Both FLY and DIG have a shot at getting the win here, which means we cannot predict the outcome with confidence -- it'll be a game of inches. The team that makes fewer (egregious) mistakes will eventually come out on top. FlyQuest have generally been a bit more consistent, although they haven't been quite as impressive as they were at the start of the split. Then again, the same goes for DIG as well. They peaked during Lock-In and it's been downhill ever since.
With that being said, their line-up is slightly more dangerous than that of FLY's, and if River can pop off like he did a few weeks ago they could, in theory, get away with the win.
