FlyQuest vs Team Dignitas
Gatekeeper clashes are rarely interesting to watch. After all, those teams seldom have the tools and weapons and talent necessary to compete, and so their games always gravitate towards the fiesta realm -- almost by default. This particular match-up, however, is far more interesting than we ever could have anticipated coming into the split. Both FlyQuest and Dignitas are tied with three wins apiece, and they've actually been playing some truly stellar LoL -- despite not looking all that dangerous.
Dignitas, for one, are actually among the best teams in North America right now; it's an outrageous notion, we know, but it's also a fact, and they deserve a ton of credit for it. They have a slew of flaws and issues, but they've been winning more often than not and are pretty much guaranteed to reach the playoffs if they keep this up. We've talked at length about just how incredible River, Blue, and Neo have been, and we've also praised Biofrost as well for his incredible vision control and phenomenal play both in the laning phase *and* in the later stages of the game.
FlyQuest's wins were mostly attained through a bit of "cheese", but they're wins nonetheless and they're obviously better than most folks want to give them credit for. They're not going to be leaving a mark in any which way but at this point of the season -- when synergy is lacking -- they definitely have a shot at making waves; heck, that's probably the main reason why they have such a stellar record at all. Well, *that* along with the Enchanter Smite strategy that has already netted them multiple wins.
We're still not certain just how good (or bad) they really are, but they've shown many deficiencies and have been mighty sloppy even in their wins, so we'll give Dignitas the edge on this one. They're not a competitive behemoth either, but they *have* been a lot more commanding in their play and that's definitely worth something at this early point of the season.
