FlyQuest vs 100 Thieves
We're really not sure how to feel about the slew of upsets we've witnessed over the last two weeks — both in the LEC *and* LCS. It's been a strange couple of days, all things considered, and we're not particularly happy for that being the case; we don't want a chaotic state of affairs but rather a predictable hierarchy in which everyone performs just as we expect them to.
FlyQuest are the very definition an outlier; they have four wins and just a single loss to their name. That's quite stellar all things considered — amazing, even. They don't have any superstars players other than, say, Aphromoo, but you wouldn't be able to tell based on their play. They're fighting with a surprising amount of confidence and even though basically all of their wins came at the expense of bottom dwellers, they're still worthy of being talked about. A win is a win and is always worth a ton, especially if it comes against a team that's contesting for the same spot standings-wise.
They're up against 100 Thieves which, frankly, is the stiffest test a team can get. And, naturally, they're not expected to do much. A few good games against the worst teams in the league are by no means enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt. Have they been impressive? Absolutely! But they had the absolute easiest strength of schedule a team could have, so there's definitely an asterisk next to their stellar record. 100 Thieves, on the other hand, have not had it easy, and other than their sole loss to IMT they've been pretty much incredible.
We don't expect this to be a blowout, but we know for a fact that 100 Thieves have the better players *and* a ton more experience -- they're the defending champs for a reason and if they come out swinging (as they almost always do) they should definitely be able to get the "W".
