Flash Wolves vs Team We

With the first half of the group stage coming to a close, we finally have a clearer picture of how things will play out. While upsets are still possible, the first three days gave us a good enough sample size to have a couple of scenarios in mind.

To focus a bit more on these teams, it was surprising to see the Flash Wolves lose to Misfits in such depressing fashion. While Misfits didn't show any excellence on the Rift, the Flash Wolves showed even less. While it was always predicted as a somewhat close matchup, fans and spectators expected more from the LMS champions after their strong, aggressive showing against the day prior. This time around they were disorganized which allowed Misfits to execute them one by one. It wasn't a pretty sight, and it wasn't close. In fact, they failed to make even a single kill. Their strong frontline was completely countered by Alphari's fantastic Trundle pick and other than solid objective control Flash Wolves failed to put up a strong offensive.

Group D has so far proven to be fairly enigmatic, with only TSM looking strong. Team WE on the other hand were somewhat hot and cold. They looked incredible against Misfits, and somewhat formidable against TSM. They are the favorites going into this game and with good reason, however do have in mind that the Flash Wolves are prone to come back strong after such a "random" defeat. Regardless, WE have the tools and the aggressive playstyle to match and will probably do so. They know this is a must win after their loss at the hands of TSM if they want to preserve their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals and will probably come out swinging.
