Evil Geniuses vs FlyQuest

Yet another game that can only be described as a landmine. First of all, no one thought that FlyQuest would ever be able to climb the standings with such expediency. Secondly, Evil Geniuses are in somewhat of a rut, and there's no surefire way for us to predict when they'll get out of it. It could be tonight, tomorrow, next week, or perhaps even next split -- it's completely up in the air. If we were to hazard a guess we'd say that they'll return to their dominant ways sooner rather than later, but strange things have been happening over in the LCS. We've seen so many inexplicable upsets that we cannot confidently make any kind of prediction -- no matter how sound and reasonable it might be.

Here's the thing: FlyQuest almost surely aren't as good as their record would imply. They're definitely capable, but this is probably just a moment of brilliance, a moment that's bound to pass sooner rather than later. Four of their five wins came over struggling bottom-tier teams. That's just not worth much in the grand scheme of things. Now, it still takes a fair bit of talent and cohesion to capitalize and amass such a respectable record, but it'd be insane of us to consider them as anything other than a surging gatekeeper, a team that's all but guaranteed to fall in the standings once we move closer to the playoffs.

With that being said, the odds on them winning (2.40) are simply far too good to pass up. We don't think they'll get the job done, but they *do* have a shot, so we might as well risk it. The safer option would be to go with Evil Geniuses, but it's not like they have any particular amount of momentum after going 0-2 last week. They're struggling far more than FlyQuest, so this might be a good moment for us to capitalize.
