Evil Geniuses vs CLG

Everyone's quite disappointed with Evil Geniuses. We had high hopes and, well, naturally so — their line-up is one of immense strength and potential. Three seasoned veterans and two exceptional young rookies, both of which have the potential to become the "superstars of tomorrow." If that doesn't sound like a recipe for success we don't know what does!

Something's missing, though. Perhaps they're overly confident and brash in their play. Perhaps they're just not a good enough match stylistically speaking. Or perhaps it's a mix of both? We're not quite sure and, well, it doesn't even matter at this point. We've watched them play many a time and, well, we've yet to be blown away. Their highs are immense, there's no doubt about it, but they're so rarely on display, and we're not quite sure why.

It goes without saying, but Evil Geniuses *have* to win this game in order to secure their spot in the playoffs and finally breathe a sigh of relief. As fate would have it, CLG have decided to field their Academy line-up, which may or may not end up being a positive thing for EG. On the one hand, one would have to assume that it'll be a step *down* in competition. On the other, most folks don't know that CLG.A have actually wrecked house in the "little leagues." This could, by all means, end up being a "landmine" for the boys in black and orange, especially if they haven't prepped well.

So we're really going in blind here, and much of the same can be said for Evil Geniuses as well. CLG's Academy line-up is far more capable and dangerous than one would expect, and they have every reason to play like their lives depend on it and put on as big of a show as they possibly can.

We're definitely worried about what could happen, but will nonetheless go with the favorites on this one and hope that EG really will get the job done, much like everyone expects them to.
