CLG vs Clutch Gamers

For our fourth match of the day we have a very exciting clash between Clutch Gaming and Counter Logic Gaming. Now this is essentially a fight between two top tier teams, however so far in the 2018 regular season Clutch Gaming has always produced better results when it mattered the most.

That trend continued into the Summer Split as well. Even though it's just the beginning of the split, Clutch has already cemented their status as a very threatening, highly capable top tier team. Their match against TSM yesterday was an absolute blast to watch and not only did they win but they also improved their head-to-head score against the perennial NA LCS team.

After a fantastic 3-0 for Clutch at the fifteen minute mark, they went moved swiftly on the map and took down four turrets in just a couple of minutes. With the gold lead getting bigger and bigger, Clutch was stronger in every teamfight that ensued and even though TSM bounced back for a bit thanks to a clean Baron steal from Grig it wasn't enough.

Clutch was better on almost all fronts and while it wasn't a fast win, their calculated, careful approach to the game paid off. Perhaps the biggest positive that you can say about Clutch right now is the fact that Febiven, Apollo and Hakuho are all playing at an incredibly high level. Clutch's bottom lane has fantastic synergy overall and they're always at the right place at the right time.

CLG on the other hand was at the receiving end in yesterday's match against Team Liquid. It was almost painful to watch as Team Liquid completely and utterly dismantled CLG on almost all fronts. They were outrotated and outmacroed from the very beginning and when it came to the first big teamfight around the twenty minute mark, CLG was aced thanks to Team Liquid's vastly superior teamfighting.

It's hard to really pinpoint what they did wrong, as they lost so quickly. They're a highly capable team without a doubt and they have more than enough talented players to contest for Top 5, but right now it seems like they're not ready to compete at the highest possible level.

We're going with Clutch Gaming on this one. While they're far from a perfect team, they're fully adept at taking CLG down. Furthermore, they often displayed great resilience even though they haven't been playing that long as a five man unit, so even if they don't start off the game in the best possible way, they should still be able to pull through and emerge victorious when all is said and done.
