CLG vs Cloud9
Any time Cloud9 steps foot on stage to compete is a good enough reason to tune in -- this LS-led era has garnered a metric ton of attention, and it'll only get more and more interesting as we move closer to the Spring Split playoffs. We obviously know who's going to win here -- there's no mystery whatsoever, but we'll all tune in regardless just so that we can see what C9 will draft and how creative they'll get against such a low-ranked opponent. Will they experiment and do a bit of limit testing? Or will it be yet another "day at the office"?
We won't have to wait long to find out, that's for sure.
As for CLG, there's really nothing special for us to talk about. They've been dreadful in nearly every possible way and have regressed quite a bit from what they've shown us during LCS Lock-In. They're pretty much the worst team in the LCS which, in all fairness, was to be expected -- we all thought that'd be the case coming into the split, which is why we were so surprised by their stellar play at the very start of the season.
But, in the end, it was nothing but a brief surge, a fleeting moment during which CLG overperformed and made us take notice. Unfortunate, no doubt, but that's just the way things are. Right now they're an absolute pushover, and that's not going to change. Contractz, in particular, has been absolutely dreadful and not at all worthy of playing on the LCS stage. If he, the biggest veteran among them, has been so bad, then what is there that CLG could possibly hope to accomplish? They might get a couple of wins on the board further down the line, but that's pretty much it -- and even *that* is far from guaranteed.
