Virtus Pro vs Cloud9

ELEAGUE Major 2018 Group Stage Day 3,

Day 3 is here and all the games are going to be fun to watch because their will be no easy match ups. However we still have to go big or go home and predict who will win what. This game being played between Cloud9 and Virtus pro is especially difficult to predict because of the past engagements of the teams. Virtus pro has never lost to Cloud9 in all the games they have played against one another, bu their have been some changes since their last encounter and we'll be discussing those and see if they can make a difference.

Cloud9 :

Cloud9 have been on the struggle bus this event dropping down to a record of 0-2 off of losses to G2 and and Space Soldiers. Two teams with very solid line ups. And though the Space Soldiers loss is a little strange, Space Soldiers have been getting better and becoming a team that is not to be taken lightly. Back to Cloud9 they have made a few roster changes since the last encounter with Virtus Pro and I believe the addition of Rush and Tarik will help them make a stand against the Polish Powerhouse.

Maps for BIG are as followed; Mirage at 12-5, Train at 9-3, Cobblestone at 10-2, Inferno at 8-3, Cache at 4-2, Overpass at 2-4 and finally Nuke is the Perma ban.

Virtus Pro :

Virtus pro have come a long way from their once great shape they were in back a few Majors ago. They have always been very inconsistent, either winning by huge numbers or losing by huge numbers. It's never been any different and Virtus Pro have always been hard to predict. Normally I wouldn't ever put a bet on or against Virtus Pro because of this reason. But I feel like they have finally gotten to that point where they have solidified themselves to just be a poor team. On the CSGO reddit it was pointed out that Byali, a main rifler for VP has put in an equal ammount of time on PUBG as he has CSGO in the past week, and for a pro player to be playing a different FPS game instead of practicing at the Major, just spells out something bad.

Navi's maps are as followed; Inferno is 6-6, Cache 7-5, Train is 1-9, Cobblestone is 6-4, Mirage is 3-6, Nuke is 2-2, and Overpass is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

Nuke and Overpass are the respective perma bans and will not be maps that will see play today. If VP want to have a chance against Cloud9 they will ban out Mirage, Cloud9 will follow with a Cache ban. VP respond with a Train ban, Cloud9 ban out Inferno and we land somewhere around the map Cobblestone, where both teams are somewhat equally invested.

Final Thoughts:

In these final moments before the game I hope that all the analysis of these two teams can show when they play. I know Cloud9 are better than this and I even project them to make it out of the group stage and onto the main stage. Virtus Pro have not put in the hours to get where they are and their losses against teams that almost shouldn't be at the Major have proved it more. I hope VP can bounce back after this loss and get back to where they once were. Or go pro in PUBG. But in this matchup I take the new Cloud9 to beat the new VP as neither team are as they were before.
