Virtus Pro vs Avangar

Adrenaline Cyber League 2018,

For the fourth weekend in a row, we have an offline event for us to as fans of Counter-Strike to watch and enjoy. This time, however, we only have four teams competing in the event; Gambit, SK Gaming, Virtus Pro, and AVANGAR. In this tip specifically, we will be looking at the best of three games to be played between teams Virtus Pro and AVANGAR. The Gambit - SK Gaming best of three will be a little too close to comfort for my personal recommendation, but the game between Virtus Pro and AVANGAR should be able to go in the favor of one team more than the other. Let's break it down and find out who that team is.

AVANGAR:

AVANGAR have slowly been rising through the ranks of the CIS region and have established themselves as one of the top tiers two teams in all of competitive Counter-Strike. In the last thirty games played for AVANGAR they have lost five games. AVANAR are on a rampage of competitive Counter-Strike and all-star rifler Qikert has dropped insane numbers and currently boasts a 1.21 rating. The team has grown a lot since their attempt at the Boston Major stage a few months ago and I believe they are ready to step into the more top-tier levels of Counter-Strike.

AVANGAR's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 28-10, Train is 15-4, Cache is 9-5, Inferno is 8-6, Overpass is 7-3, Dust 2 is 4-1, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Virtus Pro :

Virtus Pro has been on a steady decline since way before the departure of TAZ and the arrival of Michu. Michu has been performing well beyond the expectations of the rest of the team and the remaining members of the legendary squad of Virtus Pro need to step up to meet the new young talent that got brought on. I'm hoping the team has practiced some since their last offline event, but Virtus Pro almost seem to keep getting handed invites on the sole point of them being an older more well-known team.

Virtus Pro's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 13-6, Train is 9-10, Inferno is 4-11, Cache is 4-5, Nuke is 4-3, Overpass is 0-1, and Dust 2 has yet to be played

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three series and so each team will pick one map, ban two maps, and the leftover map will the decider if the game goes to three maps. AVANGAR will permaban out Nuke and Train, Virtus Pro will ban Overpass and Dust 2, the maps will be Inferno, Mirage, and Cache.

Final Thoughts:

When looking at these two teams; one being older and one being younger, it is hard to say that a newer team may claim the throne of the older team. AVANGAR have been on an absolute tear when playing thus far, while Virtus Pro hasn't shown up the last few times they had a challenge in front of them. This game might be a dawning of a newer generation of Counter-Strike and I will trust AVANGAR to lead the charge. Medium-low bet on AVANGAR.

Two tipsters backing Avangar as they outsiders here - figured that would be good enough to give it a bet myself! :)

Looked a bit grim after the half on Cache, but Avangar turned it around - great tip!
