IEM Sydney 2018 ,

After a few tips for online matches we are blessed again in our Counter Strike lives as for a second week in a row we have a high prize pool event. Following Dreamhack Marseille, we have IEM Sydney upon us. The last time we had IEM Sydney, SK gaming topped the charts and won it all and it was a spectacular event to watch. This time in my first tip for the followers of this site, will be about current IEM sydney Champions SK Gaming going up against the Asian assault of Tyloo.

SK Gaming :

SK Gaming has been off to a rocky start ever since the departure of support player TACO. With the addition of Stewie2k in his place a lot of SK has been struggling to maintain their presence on the server while adapting to this foreign play style. With practice and due time I feel Stewie2k will fit into the roster well and everyone will find their place to be. But as for now they do worry me with the fact that Stewie2k is undoubtedly one of the best North American players right now, but cannot put up the numbers he once did when on Cloud9.

SK Gaming's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 10-9, Train is 8-7, Mirage is 7-7, Overpass is 4-6, Overpass is 4-6, and both Nuke and Dust 2 have yet to be played

Tyloo :

Tyloo is coming to Sydney after qualifying in the Asian qualifier along with MVP PK. Tyloo in their most recent event of the Qi Invitational placed second losing out to GODSENT in the grand finals. They played a great event and I hope they can get out of groups this event. As Tyloo often qualify for large international events such as this but always seem to fall short in the group stages as they are no yet competitively viable compared to the other large international squads.

Tyloo's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 13-7, Mirage is 7-3, Cache is 4-5, Overpass is 5-2, Train is 2-2 and both Nuke and Dust two have yet to be played.

Map Pick/Ban :

The group stages for IEM Sydney are that of a double elimination with the first round being a best of one. So this game will be a best of one, meaning each team will ban 3 maps and the final map will be the deciding map. Considering both of the best maps for each team is Inferno, I'l take a wild guess and say that is the map that is going to be played.

Final Thoughts:

Going into this event we havea lot of questions to ask ourselves about who will win, with Dust 2 back in the map pool and Cobblestone out, we look at a lot of teams and see if the proper preparation is there. SK Gaming were known for their Dust 2 back in the day and everyone has played the map a few hundred times at least. However with this game not being played on Dust 2 it shouln't matter, just something to think about in later tips. In this game I feel SK gaming is the better of the two teams that stand before us today and I would place a medium bet on them to defeat Tyloo.
