Team Secret vs Fnatic

For our third match of the day we have a slightly underwhelming clash. Team Secret, one of the best European teams to ever assemble, will be challenged by Fnatic, an Asian squad that's not really screaming "potential" at the moment.

This is a must watch only if you're interested in watching Secret's further progression (and development in the current meta). There's not much to gain otherwise -- no deeper insight to be had, nor any overarching narrative to be entertained by.

The outcome of this match should, by all means, go in Secret’s favor. However, that doesn’t mean Fnatic won’t be able to put up a fight and make things at least a bit competitive.

Team Secret is, without a doubt, the most capable, flexible, and resilient team Europe has to offer.

Their diversity and sheer mechanical prowess are hard to counter, especially in this new meta to which everyone is trying to adapt. There's no *one* way to play the game, which is both exciting (mostly for the viewers) and fairly dangerous (for the competitors). It is defined by uncertainty.

They’ve had a rough start to the 2019/2020 DPC season, highlighted by a Top 6 finish at the ONE Esports Invitational in Singapore. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for them to improve and get back to their dominant ways.

Their performance in the group stage was, in short, mesmerizing.

Their clash against Vici Gaming was definitely the biggest highlight. The first game started on a somewhat even footing, with both teams going for comfort picks in an attempt to test the waters. Once they’ve acclimated, however, that's when the real fun began. Both teams were looking to fight and assert their dominance from the very get-go. After a long back and forth series, Team Secret prevailed through stellar macro and team play.

They were definitely the better team on the day -- much more convincing and consistent throughout, which was more than enough to snatch the win from a struggling Vici Gaming. Their clash against Beastcoast was, in many ways, an even bigger walk in the park. A logical 2-0 shellacking was the outcome everyone expected.

Overall, there's a lot to like about Team Secret at the Leipzig Major, and if they continue playing at such a high level, they're bound to go far.

Opposite them, we have Fnatic.

They looked good overall, but once the opposition improved, they simply couldn't find an answer.

They managed to qualify for the Upper Bracket of the playoffs as they placed secondin their group, but two wins against Team Aster is no praiseworthy achievement, frankly speaking.

They had to work very hard to get their hand raised in both of those aforementioned wins, and that makes us wonder: are they worthy of playing in the Upper Bracket, or did they just have a favorable strength of schedule? In any way, their future doesn’t shine bright, especially given whom they're up against.

It is only logical, then, that we have to side with Team Secret on this one. They've entered the Leipzig Major with their eyes set on the throne and they're not going to falter against an opponent like Fnatic. Their vast experience and skill should be more than enough for them to get the win with relative ease.
