Dreamhack Masters Marseille 2018 ,

With Dreamhack hosting what I think will be one of the best events of 2018, I am going to try and cover the majority of the matches to be played. Dreamhack Masters Marseille is a LAN event that will take place in Marseille, France.

Continuing on with my coverage of Dreamhack Masters Marseille, we go over to a different group. Group D to be precise, where we will be looking at teams Gambit and Liquid. Both of these teams have earned the spot to be here and even though each team has had some struggles that we will get more into below, I feel this game will a well rounded game and a chance for both teams to prove themselves on a large international stage.

Team Liquid :

Team Liquid has recently gone under a change in their roster, though it was a 1 for 1 swap I feel it overall betters the team. Steel of team Liquid has been replaced by former SK Gaming's TACO. TACO and Steel are from the same native country of Brazil, but to be honest TACO will better fit in the role of which Team Liquid need. Liquid needed a strong B sided player who can support his team mates. Steel was the former In game leader of Immortals and because Team Liquid have Zews and Nirto as In game leaders, Steel fell into an awkward spot and could not perform as well as he once did.

Team Liquid's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 21-10, Inferno is 15-7, Train is 13-7, Overpass is 8-4, Cobblestone is 8-3, Cache is 2-2, and Nuke is 1-2

Gambit :

I have spoken about all of Gambit's changes and rosters and all of the troubles that have been plaguing the roster since their Major win in Krakow. Gambit have dropped down to 17th in the world and from what I've seen performance wise, they have no intention of reaching the top 210 teams in the world any time soon. It's been lack luster and thought the skill and talent in their, the play style of new teammates and old teammates as well as no direction because the in game leaders have never been in game leaders, the team is on a steady decline.

Gambit's maps are as followed ; Overpass is 15-7, Train is 8-10, Cobblestone is 5-9, Mirage is 4-8, Inferno is 3-7, Cache is 3-4, and Nuke is 3-4

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one game that will be decided by the teams banning out 3 maps each and the decider being chosen. Team Liquid will ban out Overpass, Nuke and Cache. Team Liquid are not afraid of Gambit and will ban out their own worst instead of going after Gambit's best. Gambit will follow up with bans of Mirage, Inferno, and Cobblestone. Leaving only Train to be played. Train is a good map for both teams, but Team Liquid's consistency across all maps really drives home the map advantage for me.

Final Thoughts:

I am exited to see how all of the top teams in the world will perform with all of these new roster changes happening. Faze has a replacement, Team Liquid has a new member, and Stewie2k over to SK Gaming will be one to watch. Out of all the moves, I feel the most seamless will be this Team Liquid roster, and I feel comfortable saying that a medium bet on them, is the way to go.
