Space Soldiers vs BIG

ELEAGUE Major 2018 Group Stage Day 4,

Day 4 is upon us and we are in that time of the group stages where we find out whose going through to make it onto the big stage and who will fall and have to face another set of qualifiers and hungry teams looking to take the spot they so desperately playing for. In this match up today we have the only game that I think will be a for sure win, all the other games are going to be too close for comfort for me to even want to write a tip on. The game we are looking into today is Space Soldiers vs BIG.

BIG :

I talked a little about BIG in one of my past predictions against Team Liquid, and I feel a lot of similar feelings towards this German lineup. And those feeling are that they don't pose a threat without the jump peak bug. With this being said we did see them play outstanding against North, the second best Danish team in the world. It was a very back and forth game and due to some timing issues and excellent clutches by BIG, they ended up closing it out. But not in a convincing manner.

Maps for BIG are as followed; Cobblestone is 6-4, Overpass 2-7, Cache 2-5, Train 2-3, Mirage 0-2, Inferno 0-3 and Nuke is the Perma ban.

Space Soldiers :

Space Soldiers have done nothing but impress me so far this event. They've really shown how far they have come and all the players not just XANTARES have been stepping up and creating massive openings for the team. Though they have fallen short and are currently contesting being knocked out of the tournament, the teams they have ended up losing to are SK Gaming and Gambit. Basically the best team in the world and the defending Major Champions, so go figure.

Space Soldiers' maps are as followed; Mirage is 12-6, Cobblestone is 6-8, Cache is 11-0, Train is 5-6, Inferno is 7-3, Overpass is 5-4, and Nuke is 0-1.

Map Pick/Ban :

Nuke might as well be a perma ban for Space Soldiers and is in fact the perma ban for BIG, so no nuke this time. Space Soldiers will ban out Cobblestone and BIG will reply with a Mirage and Cache ban, as they are the two greatest threats in all of Space Soldiers map pool. Space Soldiers will likely ban out Overpass and Train to force BIG to play Inferno, a map that they have had basically no success on.

Final Thoughts:

This is it for these two teams, this is a do or die situation where the winner will go on to fight for their lives against another worthy opponent for the prize of a Legend spot at the next Major, and the loser will go home and will have to fight for this spot another day . In this match up specifically I said that this is the only game that I personally expect to be a blow out and the winner in my eyes is Space Soldiers. Go big or go home and they will not only go big but they will be BIG.
