SK Gaming vs Team Liquid

CS Summit 2 Day 4,

I have returned for the fourth and final day of CS Summit. Today we will crown a winner and see who will be the CS Summit Champions and walk away with the largest portion of that $150,000 prize pool! I decided to skip out on all bets yesterday as I thought they we're all going to be pretty fifty fifty and I chose not to part take. Today however, I will. In today's semi final game we have SK Gaming and Team Liquid who will be facing off in a best of three series for the right to play Cloud9 in a best of five series, to which Cloud9 already have a one map lead for being the winner of the winners bracket. Let's take a look at teams SK and Liquid.

SK Gaming :

With the addition of Boltz, SK Gaming should be one of the most fundamentally sound teams in the entire world right now. However I have not seen many great results out of the squad. Yes they've beaten all but one of their opponents so far this event, but the teams they are playing should not be getting as many rounds as SK are allowing. Cloud9 took very much advantage of SK in their best of three series prior to today and took the series with relative ease. I'm hoping SK will find themselves soon, because they don't look like the SK Gaming we've all come to know.

SK Gaming's maps are as followed; Inferno is 5-7, Overpass is 8-4, Mirage is 7-4, Cobblestone is 8-0, Cache is 4-1, Train is 4-1, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Team Liquid :

This will be Team Liquid's first event ever with their two new additions; NAF and Steel. So far the team has made several nice adjustments in order to be successful against the other teams at the Summit. However from an analytical standpoint, the team seems very uncoordinated and i'm noticing that NAF is the main fragger the the entire team even though he's the newest member. Hopefully Team Liquid get some practice and figure out how to put NAF in a position to succeed, as I can tell that ELIGE is still the main "star" and the team is trying to build around him, not realizing what type of results NAF can give the team, if they give him the spotlight.

Team Liquids's maps are as followed; Mirage is 10-10, Inferno is 3-7, Cobblestone is 4-4, Cache is 3-3, Train is 7-0, Overpass is 2-3, and finally Nuke is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

Nuke will not be played as it is the perma ban for both teams. I can see SK banning out Cache, and Liquid following with a Cobblestone ban. The final ban will be tricky as both teams are solid on every remaining map. SK might want to ban out train, but since they ae so good on it, they might leave it as a sleeper map and bait Liquid onto it. Overpass will be the likely banned map since SK have an outstanding record and Liquid are lack luster. The three maps of this series will be Mirage, Inferno, and Train.

Final Thoughts:

I'm very much favoring Cloud9 to win this entire event. The reason I say this is because when I did my opening tip on this event I claimed that SK are the clear favorites followed by Cloud9, however with the elimination of SK by Cloud9 and putting them in the lower bracket, I can't see SK coming back from that. However, I do see SK destroying every other team in the event with ease. This game against Liquid will be a warm up to the finals. Heavy bet on SK Gaming to win, as these are good odds for the Brazilians.
