Shanghai Dragons vs Hangzhou Spark

Shanghai Dragons facing off against Hangzhou Spark is a pretty slick way to start the day off, although it is by no means a clash of equals — Shanghai are better in every which way and are undoubtedly one of the best and most capable teams in the Overwatch League (not that anyone's overly surprised, of course). We knew what they were capable of coming into 2021 and so far they've definitely delivered across the board.

They're not perfect, mind you, but they're not far off either. They're still figuring things out, though, much like everyone else and, naturally, they haven't always been on the mark. Still, when they put their best foot forward and execute to the best of their ability, there is perhaps one or maybe two teams in the League that can go toe to toe. They're universally deemed as one of the front-runners to win the whole season and, well, there's a good reason why. They are, simply put, sublime.

Hangzhou, on the other hand, are somewhat of a gatekeeper in the APAC region. They're far from amazing, but they're not dreadful either. It really depends on the day and how well they can execute. Whom they're up against also heavily affects their performance as they're not always able to harness their inherent potential. With two wins and three losses, they're truly a middle-of-the-pack kind of team with fairly pronounced strengths and weaknesses. On a good day, they can definitely compete and trade blows, but they simply lack the potential and talent which are necessary to compete at the highest of levels. They might grow and evolve over time, but right now, as things stand, they're nowhere near as capable to rub shoulders with a team of Shanghai's caliber.

So, naturally, we're siding with the Dragons on this one — it's truly the only logical option!
