Shanghai Dragons vs Boston Uprising

After an absolutely insane week three of the Overwatch League, we're entering week four with a lot of engaging storylines and since we're nearing the playoffs every single map counts.

For our first match of the day we have a fairly uneventful clash between the Boston Uprising and the Shanghai Dragons. To be quite frank this isn't exactly the most anticipated series of the week - far from it. In fact, it's a fight between the number one team in the League and the absolute worst. (both in regards to the rankings and the level of their play)

Boston is currently on an incredible roll as they've been able to string six wins in a row and against some of the toughest competition in the League. They became the first team to take down New York, London and Seoul (and in succession as well) and they're currently just a single victory away from securing their playoff spot. They're not just looking like the team to beat right now but they're also displaying the highest amount of synergy and prowess regardless of the map and opponent.

Perhaps most importantly they've showcased an immense ability to turn things around, to not surrender. It is their mental fortitude and resilience that allowed them to reverse sweep so many teams and even though things looked dire at certain points they never forfeited and always managed to climb back from the jaws of defeat.

As for Shanghai, their winless OWL tenure continues as they've only managed to get a couple of map wins so far in Stage 3. They don't look bad, in fact they looked great at certain moments with Diya and Ado having a couple of fantastic plays here and there but it's just too few and far between. Their obvious lack of communication and overall team cohesion is the biggest problem. That said, they've improved with each passing week so there is a glimmer of hope that at the very least they won't finish season one with a 0-40 record.

It will be exciting to see just how far Boston can go and whether or not they will be able to sustain this incredible level of play throughout the rest of Stage 3 and the playoffs. It would be a shame to see them crumble after going through so many trials and tribulations over the last couple of weeks. Fortunately for all Boston fans, even if there is a team that can go blow-for-blow with the Uprising, the Dragons aren't one. Expect this one to be relatively quick as Boston is surely looking to dominate and get the 4-0 to further build up their map differential.
