Seoul Dynasty vs Dallas Fuel

The Overwatch League is just about to begin and things cannot get any more exciting for Overwatch fans around the world.

Out of all matches played this week, there is one that has essentially been anticipated ever since we've known about the Overwatch League.

Make no mistake, this is the pinnacle of Overwatch, the most anticipated clash of the whole League. It is a clash between East and West, a clash between the Korean powerhouse predicted to lift the inaugural trophy and the only Western team that was ever able to stand up to the Korean giants. (the ex-EnVyUs squad was able to win the first OGN Overwatch Apex Season 1 tournament)

All eyes are set on this single match and with good reason. Dallas is predicted to be the biggest threat to teams like Seoul Dynasty, London Spitfire and perhaps even the New York Excelsior and with good reason. They're one of the most original, innovative and exciting teams in all of Overwatch. They never set and accept the status quo as they know there is always another way, another pick or strategy that might be a valuable asset and they're able to have such a fearless approach because they have some of the best players on the planet.

They used the off-season to sign a couple of key players as they fully realized their own shortcomings and holes. With Seagull they finally have a Pharah/Genji player who also has a dirty good Junkrat. With xQc they got one of the most aggressive and fearless tank players who is also a perfect antithesis to Cocco and his somewhat passive, calculated approach on picks like Reinhardt and Winston. Custa also brings a special flavor to the team and is also the first player in competitive to fully pick up Moira literally days after her release. Paired with a DPS beast in Taimou, arguably the best Tracer in the world in Effect, a fantastic flex in Mickie, a great alternating duo between Cocco and xQc and a fantastic trio of highly capable supports that cover all metas in Chipshajen, Harryhook and Custa.

Essentially Dallas is sensational at utilizing their players strengths and hero pools. They know the tools that are in their possession and aren't afraid to use them regardless of the outcome. This approach allowed them to completely steamroll through any and all opposition in the Overwatch Contenders: Season 1.

On the other hand, Seoul is simply incredible. If there was ever a way to improve one of the best teams in existence (Lunatic-Hai) it would perhaps be a couple of additions in the DPS section of the team. To say that Fleta and Weeked are incredible playmakers and some of the best DPS players in the world would be an understatement. Fleta's Genji and Widowmaker play was a thing of absolute beauty and he is surely the player to keep an eye on during the OWL. With Ryujehong backing them up, they're poised to lift the Overwatch League trophy.

This should by no means be an easy match. While Dallas did experiment quite a bit in their preseason matches, they will surely come out of the gates swinging with their best possible line-up, but it's hard envisioning them beating the Seoul giant. While the gap between Eastern and Western teams isn't as big as people originally thought, Seoul displayed an unrivaled understanding of the meta and the core elements of the game as well.

Bet on Seoul, but don't bet too much. It's still very early too be sure of an outcome and after all you never know if Dallas has something special up their sleeves.
