Seoul Dynasty vs Boston Uprising

For our first match of the day we have a fairly interesting clash between the Boston Uprising and the Seoul Dynasty.

Now both teams are out of the stage playoffs for sure. They simply started off too badly to climb back right now so they're only playing right now in hopes to secure and improve in their overall playoff standings. Boston sits in a much more comfortable position right now as they only need a win or two to solidify their playoffs spot but Seoul is at a very concrete risk on losing out altogether.

These matches are do or die for them and they know it. Unfortunately there isn't much that they can do if they're just playing badly as has to be a gradual process and they simply don't have that much time left. They are currently sitting at fifth place right now but they're tied with the Los Angeles Gladiators who are currently looking like a Top 3 team, the Philadelphia Fusion and even the Houston Outlaws who only need another win to tie with Seoul.

The fight for the last two playoff spots is incredibly tense and a single loss could mean the difference between waiting on the sidelines until next January or prepping for July.

Seoul was barely able to take down a very game Florida Mayhem, but even against Shanghai they didn't look that good, especially not in the first two maps. They looked lost and mediocre. They didn't even get three points on King's Row and it was blind luck that they were able to take the map as Shanghai had six ultimates but failed to put up an offense. Against any other team that would have been a loss.

Things didn't look that hot on Hanamura either as Shanghai actually managed to full hold on point B for almost five minutes with clutch picks from Ado's Widow and some creative strats with Diya on Mei.

To their credit Seoul did step up afterwards. Wekeed especially made a couple of key plays but also played a lot of Brigitte, whereas Fleta had good and bad maps - much like the last couple of months.

You might think that Seoul started picking things up a bit but that's arguably only on paper. While they did have a 2W-0L showing last week it was still against the lowest ranked teams in the entire League.

Winning must feel good for Seoul who only recently in week three managed to get two wins on the board in Stage 4, so they're currently sitting at ninth in the stage rankings with just two measly wins and four losses. Not such a dominant dynasty after all it seems.

After Boston they have Philadelphia, Dallas and the Gladiators lined up. If they continue playing at the same level as the last three weeks then they're lined up for three additional losses. This match against Boston is the only one that they could win in theory.

As for Boston, well, they're still winless. However they're hard at work to improve and it became evident last week. They lost a close series to London but they looked nothing like the Boston at the beginning of the stage. They were fighting for every single meter, much more invigorated and hungry that before.

When Boston did manage to step up on Dorado it was too late as they had already lost the series but with Striker shutting down Birdring it was a great display of how Boston looks and plays when they're able to impose their playstyle.

Their loss to the San Francisco Shock was also expected but they had a couple of good moments as well. The Shock are currently a Top 4 or even Top 3 team so losing in 1-3 fashion isn't that unexpected or staggering.

They're showing gradual improvement and while they're far from their Stage 3 power level they're still a somewhat formidable opponent.

This is an incredibly hard match to predict as both teams are currently wildly inconsistent and they're also simply not that good right now. We're going for Boston but not with full confidence. This could by all means go the five map distance. Neither of these two teams have a good read on the meta so they should in theory default back to standard team comps without Brigitte and that's where Boston should have the upper hand.
